About Circle City Spin

Hello all. Tony East here, founder of Circle City Spin. That's me above in the photo, I'm the guy who is not Obi Toppin. When I wanted to know more about my favorite teams growing up, I often felt like there was information missing. I wanted to fill those gaps and hope to here.

Circle City Spin is an independent publication that covers the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever. I've covered the Pacers since the 2017-18 season and have seen the rise of the Victor Oladipo groups, the pivot to a new era led by Domantas Sabonis, and now Tyrese Haliburton's continued success. My first season covering the Fever was in 2020 during the WNBA bubble, which many called the wubble. I've seen many awful Fever teams, making their ascent with Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston supremely impressive.

I hope to cover events for both teams in my voice, which is (for better and for voice) data-driven and research-filled, as well as in the voice of the players and coaches. I love studying the Collective Bargaining Agreement of both the NBA and WNBA as well as the strategy of basketball and hope to help others understand those aspects of both the Pacers and Fever.
